Pervaporation System
Advanced Membrane Separation for Resource Recovery
Pervaporation is a membrane molecular separation technology- utilised for selective permeation of diffusive component from aqueous-organic mixtures.
The pervaporation process is mainly used for the removal of the solvent from a mixture to produce a concentrated feed stream and a purified stream of the solvent. Pervaporation system is ideally suited for resource recovery and waste valorisation for industries and can be a part of industrial water and wastewater treatment setup.
Pervaporation offers numerous advantages in terms of energy-efficiency, sustainability and cost-effictiveness than other conventional technologies.
GPT is a manufacturer, supplier and technology solutions provider of proprietary pervaporation system.
The pervaporation process is carried out in a dense polymeric membrane layer that are functionalized with either hydrophilic or organophilic which is responsible for physico-chemical separation and mass transport of molecules through the membrane.
In order to achieve separation, a vacuum or partial vacuum is applied on one side of a pervaporation membrane. The solvent-selective membrane allows preferential diffusion of solvent molecules through the membrane while rejecting the non-selective components from feed mixture.
